Amazing Acrobats

I just saw the movie Ninja Assassin this weekend with my friends and this kind of reminded me of it.  Some people can do such amazing things with their bodies that most people couldn’t even see themselves being able to accomplish.  There are many different types of things that amazing acrobats can do.  Some of them jump from building to building and some can do vertical push ups with one hand.  It’s so interesting to watch acrobats do these things and wonder how long it took them to be able to actually do what they do.

Images like this are so interesting to look at; they can look so real sometimes.  The whole concept of this type of image is also interesting to think about.  It makes it look so real.  The child in the top right of the image is probably thinking of how scary it would be if it were to actually take another step and fall off a real building.

As I was browsing through pictures looking for what image i could use for my essay, I came across quite a few pictures of 3D artwork that’s actually drawn with chalk on sidewalks. The person who took this picture is trying to show how imaginative some artists are. I think it’s very difficult to draw something like this and make it look so realistic. There are many 3D images that look a lot better, but i liked this one in particular because of the little girl standing on the edge of the building. I find it funny how she bends over as if she was trying to look down from the top of the building. It left me wondering how realistic these drawings may be.

WEEK 10 REBLOG
When I look at this picture it reminds me of sociology. The little girl standing on the edge because to her it looks like if she walks any further she might fall in! The age that children learn depth perception is like toddler, and this girl is young, I’m not sure exact age. This chalk drawing is very elaborate. The artist did a spectacular job! I really had to look at this picture for a few seconds to figure out it was not real. I think this will make a great paper!
Wk 11
I think that this drawing had a lot of work put into it. At the top it shows certain clothing companies and many skyscrapers. The most funny thing I observed was the little girl standing on the drawing and looking down as if it was real. It shows how young and naive children are today. They will believe almost anything that anyone tells them and that is supported by her looking down upon the picture. Another thing I believe the artist was trying to convey is how people do not really notice things in life. People have to make bold statements if they want something to be noticed or to be taught.

This is a really cool picture. All the different colors and the 3D is amazing. I like the logo’s because it gives it a new york feel. The little kid is looking down like she wants to dive in all the coolness. I see little cars at the bottom and streets. Im thinking this is meant to be New York, or mabye a major city. The 3D is unique because i havent seen alot of paintings in 3D. All in all great picture with lots of texture, and so on!

So when I first saw this I thought the little girl was standing in one of those glass boxes that are at the very top of a building. I love how the little girl is at the edge looking down at the drawing. Like the people before me have mentioned the photographer is making the viewer how the sidewalk art is so realistic that even people can be confused for a little moment that the y have to take a closer look. I love how the picture sort of sucks you and it makes you feel like you are inside an actual crystal box looking down at that image.

I love this picture! I went to New York to stay with my aunt 2 years ago, and the most insane “chalk walk” artist that specialize in this type of illusion art work were in the down town area making these amazing landscapes on the walk that were cracked in the pavement making it seem like you would fall in. One picture I saw where it had a Lord of the Rings scenery cracked in the pavement and the artist said it was “Middle Earth” making a play on play of words. These amazing artists get so much tourist recognition but never from the art world. The amount of time and thought process to make these kinds of paintings take so much time and it takes so long to do it also that you think there would be more appreciation for this amazing paintings.

Everytime I see a picture of one of these thing they freak me out.  I don’t mean badly.  It’s just strange to see such a vivid picture in a place so unexpected.  It’s as though you’re walking with your feet on solid ground, and then you’re suddenly falling from the top of a building with nothing to stop you.  Where the kid is standing helps to enforce the sense of depth and reality, as if you really can peer down to the streets below and be wary of the fall.

311 has been one of my favorite bands for a long time.  They have a lot of songs like this that speak of love or other happy things.  Almost all of their songs have a catchy tune.  My friend first told me about this band when I was a sophomore in high school, at first I didn’t really like the band, but eventually their songs grew on me and I listen to them all the time.

W10 So to begin with, I was never a big fan of 311. Then they released Uplifter and they got me. They have a song called “Daisycutter” which of course I love lol and they have this one “Two Drops in the Ocean”. When my friend told me about this song, I literally couldn’t stop listening to it. I got the video from www.youtube.com and well the song is just so sweet. It talks about how two people are so alike that one has fate that they will both be together in the end no matter what. That destiny will guide them to each other. My favorite part is where they sing, “A lot of fish in the sea, but not for me. You’re something of a different kind. The rest evaporate, but you stay in my mind”. It’s saying there’s a lot of other people I could be with, but you’re the one of a kind that I want to be with. The only one that I think of. It is so sweet and I love it from start to finish. :)

"Fight Club" is a well known movie and a very interesting one at that.  I found this article extremely interesting because the director of the movie decided to put something funny into the new blue-ray version of the movie.  The title screen was replaced with the title screen of "Never Been Kissed".  The best thing about this was that critics reviewed the movie and didn’t release the information before the movies came out.  The first and most important rule in "Fight Club" still stands according to the article.  "You do not talk about "Fight Club."

The Boondock Saints was a great movie, and the second one has finally come out.  Almost everyone I have talked to said the first one was a great movie, which I definitely agreed with once I saw the movie.  The bad thing is this movie has only been released in select theaters.  The Boondock saints is about two brothers that take matters into their own hands and try to eliminate “bad” people, such as people that work for the mob.  Since the first one was so good, I only hope this one lives up to the first one and isn’t a let down

Technology can be a good and bad thing.  If we didn’t have technology at all think of how much harder life would be, you wouldn’t have microwaves, refrigerators, computers, TV, dishwashers, cellphones, dryers, and many other things we take for granted.  These things all make our lives easier in many ways.  The problem is people have started becoming EXTREMELY lazy and relying on technology for basically everything.

We were warned, but we didn’t listen. Yes it is sad. The Redbox kiosk has virtually put BlockBuster out of business to where soon you will be renting thier movies out of a Bluebox. You can do all of your banking from a 24 hour ATM. Rent a car from the airport from the Alamo kiosk. Sign in to the minute clinic kiosk at walgreens when you arive for your appiontment. And now you can get 99 tacos for 2 cent (ha) from Jacks kiosk. But we cant say we weren’t warned in advanced several years ago. My main example will be Theodore Kaczynski (The Unabomber). Yes the unabomber from the 1980’s. Theodore was actually a VERY smart man that was a Harvard undergraduate, had a PhD in mathmatics from University of Michigan, and was a professor at University of California, Berkeley. But what drove the unabomber to the brink of insanity was the wilderness around his home being destroyed by development and technology. He said that technology was going to rot the minds of our children and take the jobs of our fathers. So he decided to send bombs to the CEO’s of high tech companys such as Boeing. As much as I hate to say it, it looks like Mr. Kaczynski was right.

I agree with you completely. This world relies to much on technology and it has become a major problem in the United States. There are so many electronics where people used to work and this has effected our employment growth rate. People are starting to depend to much on technology and not enough with their own skills. This picture shows how much our world has changed. First off by showing how we now have fast food restaurants wherever people go. Second off there are electronics machine that have taken the place of people’s job. This is so absurd, because society should be relying on themselves to survive not a machine.

WOW! This is so crazy. As soon as I saw this picture, I knew I just had to reblog this! I can not believe what our world has come to. Everything is so convienent…too convienent. We have taken all of the hard work out of our daily lives. We compensate doing work for sitting on the computer; Instead of walking downstairs to ask someone a question or talk to them, we use our cell phones to call them so that we do not have to get up or move; Walking somewhere doesnt even exist anymore, there is only driving, and not that the drive thru was not convienent enough, but now you can simply use this machine to order your meal and pay for it. It makes me think, “what will soon be the use for humans?” Scary thought. This is crazy! I agree with yall.

I saw this movie this weekend with my friends and it was pretty good.  The trailer shows quite a bit about this movie but there’s more to it than just what it shows.  Some comedies now days show ALL the funny parts in the trailer making the movie look hilarious.  Thankfully this movie is not one of those movies.  This movie focuses on Ewan McGregor and George Clooney.  Ewan McGregor gets a lead on a story, follows it up, and it takes him on an adventure with George Clooney.

W8

I live with my brother and neither of us ever watch the news, so I didn’t hear about this until one of my friends told me about it.  I don’t understand what can compel people to take such awful actions.  Killing others will almost never solve a problem, it will only make things worse. ”An Army chaplain exhorted worshippers to pray for meaning in the worst massacre on a military facility in the United States.” It is quite disturbing that this massacre was the worst of its kind and it was so close compared to other events of killing that are usually so far away.

Week 8

Wow, there are not enough words to describe the sorrow I have for the people involved in this shooting. To think that this happened in Texas is scary and for it to have been by a doctor adds to it even more. A mental Health doctor went on a rampage and started shooting people out of nowhere. It is an awful situation, leaving 12 dead and 31 wounded. I cannot believe that this actually happened. I know people going to Fort Hood soon so I am praying for them and I hope that all goes well. They are in my thoughts and so are the people involved in this horrific situation.

 week 8

The story is very tragic. The number of people affect are not only in the U.S but around the world. The world is always seeing horrific bombing around the world. When this happened in Fort Hood,I was thinking the shooting has happened where I live. I always hear these bombing in news in Peshawar,Baghdad and many other places not so close to where I live. This brings me to say that when something happens to you then you know how it really feels for people far away. When we look at the root position of each tragic situation, there is a group of people or a person who is trying to bring their beliefs into exists for the world to see in a violent way.I think the creator of the new article was trying to inform people about the fort hood shooting.

"Watch this exit attempt and count all the ways you would have done this differently."

It looks to me like this is recorded from some store’s security camera.  Someone that worked at that store must have seen this on the monitors and posted it on the internet.  I think the main reason that they posted this was to show how bad people can be at driving.  Sometimes people just don’t pay attention, or sometimes they are multitasking.  The most common things that people divert their attention to while driving are: passengers, changing the song on the radio or a CD, texting or a phone call, eating, or make up.  If people actually focused their attention on driving or had more common sense then there wouldn’t be near as many accidents.

W7

I still have yet to see this movie even though I really want to. It’s funny that you say they are idiots for not checking under the bed, almost all horror movies have people that make awful decisions throughout the movie.  Sometimes they will head toward the scary sounds or sometimes when they are in a group they decide to split up.  Also I can relate to thinking it’s funny when people freak out about anything in a horror movie. The best is when one of your friends sitting right next to you almost jumps out of their seat.

LOL.  I thought the people watching this movie were hilarious!  I went with a friend to see this and we laughed the entire time.  Everyone was so on-edge it was almost comical.  The movie was ridiculous too.  Everyone in the theater screams when… a door moves?  When they see a shadow?  Come on people.  The noises you are hearing are those damned Keebler Elves.  The acting was great, and it was entertaining, but also little over-hyped.  And… they never checked under the bed! Idiots!

Week 7

Last week I went and saw Paranormal Activity in theatres and I literally was gripping the seat I was so scared. It was really intense. The movie is about a girl who is haunted by something in her house and she cannot ever get away from it. Every night it shows up in their house and something creepy happens. The writer did a very good job at portraying the creativity and scariness of this movie. It differs from most other scary movies and it really freaked me out. I was even thinking about it almost the rest of the day. I suggest everyone go and see it!

W7 Reblog

I decided to re-blog kristas-09 post because I actually saw Paranormal Activity twice! And it was still scary both times. I loved the movie and I’m considering buying it when it comes out on DVD. This really was a different type of horror movie because when you think of scary movies, you think of slasher films or some serial killer breaking into your home and there is nowhere to escape or something really bloody and gory, but this movie was definitely different and actually believable and I suggest that those who have not seen it, should really see it because it’s not a waste of money!
